Unfortunately, the answer is yes. Weather is getting worse for people in the U.S. and globally, Spencer Weart, a historian and retired director of the Center for History of Physics at the American Institute of Physics in College Park, Maryland, told Live Science.

Climate is the average of weather over time, and Earth has a long and dramatic history of natural climate change. The Triassic period (252 million to 201 million years ago) may have ended with a million-year rainstorm. And the dino-killing asteroid hitting Earth at the end of the Cretaceous period (145 million to 66 million years ago) plunged parts of the sky into cold darkness for years under dense clouds of ash and particles; then, Earth's temperatures spiked for 100,000 years, due to the colossal amount of carbon dioxide the asteroid kicked up when it smashed into the Yucatán Peninsula; a massive asteroid strike is still technically a natural event, albeit a sad one for the dinosaurs.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 40.2 degrees Celsius, almost a notch higher than what was recorded a day ago. On Friday, the Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's base station, had recorded a maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) at 7 pm was 199, which is in the 'moderate' category, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, the thunderstorm activities will continue in several parts of the State till June 3. However, the yellow alert will remain valid for next 48 hours.
Conditions are also favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon into some parts of central Arabian Sea, reaming parts of Kerala, some more parts of Tamil Nadu, some parts of Karnataka, and some more parts of south and Central Bay of Bengal, some parts of northeast Bay of Bengal and northeastern states during the next 3-4 days.

Warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi.

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted pleasant weather in Delhi for Monday (May 30) "The sky will be partly cloudy and there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in the city on Monday," said the IMD official, as per PTI. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 41 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Monsoon to advance in Kerala, Karnataka and parts of Bay of Bengal
The Southwest Monsoon has set in over Kerala on Sunday, three days ahead of its usual date of June 1, marking the start of the four-month rainy season that is crucial for India's farm-based economy.

The southwest monsoon arrived over Kerala Sunday, three days ahead of its normal onset date of June 1, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

This is only the fourth occasion since 2010 when the onset of southwest monsoon over Kerala took place before time (June 1). As per IMD records, the monsoon had arrived earlier than usual in 2010 (May 31), 2017 (May 30) and 2018 (May 29). The earliest onset over Kerala since 2005 was recorded in the year 2006, when the monsoon had arrived on May 26.

The declaration regarding the arrival of monsoon was made after the IMD was satisfied with all meteorological parameters including cloud cover over Arabian Sea and Kerala, rainfall over 14 stations in Kerala and the strengthening and depth of westerly winds, among others. Despite the early arrival of southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea on May 16 this year, the monsoon’s progress thereafter had slowed down.

Heat wave has abated most parts of Northwest India from May 23rd. Temperatures of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Western parts of Uttar Pradesh as well as north Rajasthan are near normal or below normal for the last one week. Occasional dust storm, thunderstorms, and rain are not allowing temperatures to increase.

A trough which is extending from Northwest Rajasthan to Bangladesh is also oscillating North and South. Dry northeasterly and westerly winds are not setting up due to the oscillation of the trough and wind direction is changing continuously.

We do not expect any significant weather activity over southern parts of Punjab and Haryana, Delhi, western parts of Uttar Pradesh, and North Rajasthan for at least the next one week. Therefore, there may be a marginal increase in temperatures over these areas.
